Jeffrey Wasserman assists academic medical centers, faculty practice plans, health systems, and medical groups that are undergoing organizational change. He works with physician and management team leaders to improve strategic, clinical, and operational performance. His primary areas of expertise include strategic planning, governance, network development, practice development and management, managed care, contracting, ambulatory care operations, financial planning, physician compensation plans and the restructuring of failed physician consolidation efforts. He also serves as an executive coach for both management team members and physician leaders.
In 28 years as a healthcare executive, including senior leadership positions in both healthcare systems and large medical groups, Mr. Wasserman has developed the skills to mediate between the complex cultures of physician groups and healthcare organizations. He has facilitated the integration of physician groups and healthcare systems, managed the reorganization of executive management teams, led the creation of new practice management and governance structures, and managed the consolidation of physician practices.
Mr. Wasserman has facilitated the development of several faculty practice plans and large multi-specialty group practices, expansion and improvement of numerous clinical programs and practices, and directed the planning of several facilities including a new 500,000 square foot ambulatory care center. He managed financial turnaround plans at several medical centers, including operational and revenue cycle improvements. He also led a “Workforce Excellence” program to improve customer service and staff morale.
He has consulted at numerous healthcare organizations including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Facey Medical Foundation, Harvard Medical Faculty Plan, Indiana University Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Michigan State University.
