Sarah N. Bishop

Sarah Bishop helps healthcare leaders deploy the tools of knowledge management and performance measurement to enhance clinical quality, safety, and operational efficiency and generate ideas for process improvement. She has hands-on experience coordinating benchmarking processes in hospitals, from data submission to the presentation of results, and has developed an online performance management tool to streamline the steps from idea generation to action.

Prior to joining The Bard Group, Ms. Bishop oversaw the benchmark product analysis and knowledge management support for five hospital systems, as well as several stand-alone hospital entities. Her work included developing project plans, setting deadlines, and coordinating internal and external resources. She was also responsible for analyzing hospital operations to integrate the results from functional, clinical, and quality benchmarks, improve departmental efficiencies, and develop cost reduction strategies.

Ms. Bishop led idea generation sessions with hospital managers, using performance improvement tools to identify the operational and procedural drivers of cost variation. She also developed, managed, and implemented the use of a digital dashboard to facilitate seamless, real-time reporting of key performance indicators for hospital clients.

Her clients include BayCare Health System, Bellevue Hospital, Rochester General Hospital, and Gouverneur Healthcare Services.
