Dr. Andrew Epstein directs consulting engagements for the leaders of university and community hospitals, hospital and integrated health systems, faculty practices, and large physician groups.  His strategy projects focus on physician-hospital integration, clinical service lines, and performance improvement.  In addition, Dr. Epstein conducts extensive research focused on physician leadership effectiveness, organizational performance, communication, and trust.

Prior to joining The Bard Group, Dr. Epstein practiced internal medicine at Harvard Community Health Plan (HCHP, now Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates) for twenty years.

Dr. Epstein’s leadership roles have included Associate Chief of the HCHP medical service at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), co-founder of the HCHP Teaching Programs (forerunner to the Department of Ambulatory Care and Prevention at Harvard Medical School) founder and director of the Primary Care Residency Program co-sponsored by the departments of medicine at HCHP and BWH; cofounder of the New Physician Orientation and Training Program for HCHP; and member of the Internship Selection Committee for the Department of Medicine at BWH.

Dr. Epstein’s clients include Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Columbia University Medical Center, Jefferson Medical College, Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, NYU Medical Center, University of Colorado School of Medicine, Riverside Methodist Hospital (OhioHealth), Baylor University Medical Center, Maimonides Medical Center, Beaumont Hospitals, and Group Health Cooperative.
